2008 Road King This 2008 Road King sports limited edition custom paint from Harley-Davidson. The numbered paint is 136/200. Wide white walls lend the appropriate nostalgia to the paint and a detachable sissy bar makes the ride comfortable for someone special (or someone you’re hoping will be special - you get the idea). Chrome front end, 80-spoke laced wheel and a host of subtle accessories complement “the look.” Come in to the Santa Cruz store and check this bike out.

Pansy Ass - And Proud of It

Friday, November 30th, 2007

It got cold quick. So, it’s time to think of heated grips, a heated seat, or my favorite the heated jacket. What a difference being toasty makes when there is a chill in the air. Call me a pansy ass. I’ve got no problem there ’cause I’m riding and I’m comfortable. The service department can throw a pair of heated grips and/or a heated seat on your bike faster than you can say the Gettysburg Address. If your looking for the ultimate clothing solution to add natural or “artificial” warmth, look no further.

First the artificial options. As I said, the heated jacket liner is “the shit.” Pardon the expression. The heated jacket liner goes under my FXRG jacket no problem. You can control it with a pocket switch and thermostat or you can wire it to a switch on your bike. I’m not big on fumbling around in my pocket while I’m riding, so I have a plug by my seat and a switch discretely mounted on the bike. I don’t use the thermostat; I just flip the switch ON when I’m cold, and OFF when I’m warm enough.

Aside from the heated jacket liner, there is a heated vest liner, heated pants liner, and heated gloves. I haven’t seen anyone around here with the heated pants liners, but we sure sell a lot of jacket and vest liners. The gloves are popular as well. If you’re using the heated jacket liner, the gloves plug right into the cuffs. Trick.

So, we’ve got this stuff in stock. Or, want it now - you can click over and order it from us online. You can find the heated jacket liner here. Want the heated vest liner? Here are the heated gloves.

There are also a host of thermal garments available from Harley. I use them all Winter. They’re great. There are a bunch you can find in the Santa Cruz or Watsonville stores or you can order them online. Here are my three favorites: the neck tube keeps your neck warm; the thermal cap is great off the bike; and, the face mask is essential if you wear a half helmet.

Best Time to Buy Your New Harley???

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Well, let’s analyze this. The sales guys at Santa Cruz and Green Valley are willing to make your first three payments for you. Both stores have a great selection of new Harleys. Accessories & clothing is 20% off. Oh, and for a very limited time the shop labor rate has been rolled back to $69. So, no payments until March 2008; you save 20% on accessories & clothes; and, you save nearly $30 off labor. It can’t get much better than that.

Really, we’ve got bikes to sell and we are serious about making you a deal. There are some specific terms & conditions and some restrictions to the above - any salesman at either store can take you through them. Call it the small print. But, believe me - the idea is to get you on a new Harley today - no games - just a good honest deal.

Who Thinks of These Things?

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Send a virtual naughty gift. The New York Times reported that one of Facebook’s most popular programs allows you to send virtual naughty gifts to a friend. Who thought of this? Apparently, it’s a winning idea because nearly 150,000 people send these “things” daily. Some people either have way too much time - or maybe this is fun. Or, efficient. Or, just weird. So, here is the article - read it for yourself. I’m not making this up!

SC HOGsters Do It Again!

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Congratulations to the Santa Cruz HOG Chapter. For a third year, the Chapter has retained the coveted Bay Area Director’s trophy. Once again, the Chapter won the right to display the trophy for another year by winning the chapter challenges and by bringing the most number of riders to other Bay Area Chapter events. The Santa Cruz Chapter is modest in size compared to some of their Bay Area counterparts, so it’s doubly impressive that they were able to fend off the other envious chapters. Watch out HOGsters, there’s a rumble that the other Chapters are going to be gunning for you! Congrats to a great bunch of enthusiasts
