What a terrific surprise yesterday to receive an email from the Prix de la Photographie Paris announcing the winners for 2008.   My Remember photography exhibit that was on display last year in the Santa Cruz store was recognized with a third place prize.  You can see more about the awards here.  If you want to see an online version of Remember, follow this link.  As I looked at some of the other professional and non-professional work, I was humbled by the creativity.  In the case of the photojournalists, I was shocked by some of the images.  So, it was beyond wonderful to be included and recognized on a personal level.  But, most gratifying is the fact that these pieces will cause people to think about the sacrifices of war and remember those who fought for us.

We will mount the exhibit again this year, so if you are in the area, stop by and spend Memorial Weekend with us.
